  Did we get RTD's ("Religiously Transmitted Diseases") from the Watchtower?

  having just started to read the book "pharisectomy" i decided to google the book's concept of "religiously transmitted diseases".. there were more than 44,000 hits for this phrase.. looking back i can see several spiritual and psychological illnesses, or rtd's, that i contracted from the watchtower organisation.. having rejected this organisation mid-2009 as just another "snare and a racket", i have found considerable healing.. i feel i have become much, much less judgmental, bigoted, supremacist, elitist, dogmatic, territorial, ignorant, legalistic, moralistic, ethnocentric, materialistic and closed-minded.. i feel i am more liberal, compassionate and connected with others regardless of differences.. i am not troubled if we do not share the same beliefs, nationality, race, social status or sexual orientation.. the only people i really struggle with, are the very, very small handful i know of who are genuinely and rabidly pharisaical, evil, toxic, destructive or combative.. what are your views and experience?.

  Lack of humanity and intolerance are core WBTS values so it is not surprising that humanity and tolerance reassert themselves after waking up...congratulations to all of you who have made the break

  Well I think BOTR got what she wanted from her post - 3 pages of commentary, including some acrimany between posters - great stuff. For the record I am also a lawyer but I don't go out of my way to advertise the fact and I certainly wouldn't set myself up as an expert on all things legal or venture a legal opinion outside my area of expertise.

  i must admit that my journey has brought me to a place that i never thought possible, a void.

  i have held faith in the spiritual world all my life and now i was finally able to pass to other side of the darkness.

  many times darkness is associated with evil and yet roughly 70% of the universe is made of dark energy.. .

  suavojr - you really are doing it tough living a lie by pretending to your family that you still believe so as not to lose them all the while knowing what you now know. It must be very tough but I think what you are doing by creating some time for yourself to expand your world view and read and learn from literature you would not previously have dreamt of reading. PM me if you want to discuss books to read and books you have already read.

  There are so many things I hate about the vile philosophy the WBTS teaches but the attitude to higher education is almost the one I hate the most. I think it is bleeding obvious that a university degree is a huge asset, not only for employment but for understanding the economic, social and political forces that shape the world around us. It is generally true (I note that entrepreneurs tend to be an exception) that the more education you have the better off you are - it is as simple as that.

  Anglican school phobia

  after a long and frustrating houe search in london we finally found a place that fitted all our requirements and my wife seemed happy with and i was successful in the bidding process and had our offer accepted even though it wasn't the highest beacuse we can exchange contracts quickly and now we have lawyers working on exchanging contracts soon.

  so everything is going swimmingly and then my wife demands that we go and look at a house being offered by the same agent we used to make the offer on the house we are buying.

  i am like wtf, if we ask the agent to see another property they will tell the vendors for the place we are buying and they will revoke acceptance of our offer and we will be back to square one.

  if you have been following the news these days, you maybe have seen images like this one:.

  heart breaking stories about people that where separated from their relatives for over 60 years.

  i've seen an interview with a crying old man, saying that he fears that he will not be able to recognize his sister or that he will not have any feelings for her, because of the many years and the indoctrination by the north korean regime.. all of this reminded me of the watchtower society.

  Hello from Still Totally ADD glad to be back

  it's been 6 months now since my old computer died.

  a good friend of our's had a spare computer her husband never used so she asked me if i would like to have it.

  after cleaning it up inside and out i found out i could not remember my password and the e-mail i gave them i no longer use.

  paranoia agent - I and my two sons also have ADD. I would say that medication is not always the answer. Finding strategies to manage the ADD may be a better approach. Also do not think of ADD as a handicap - it has benefits such as being more flexible and having bursts of energy. The ADD generally gets easier to handle as you get older - the worst period is during adolescence when the hormone surge reinforces the ADD. If you can find a form of work that harnesses the positive benefits of being ADD that will help. Do a google search on benefits of ADD/ADHD. Take care Fraz

  i was told a very heartbreaking story last night.

  one of my childhood friends adopted two kids from africa several years ago.

  these kids have had very severe anger management issues and have been in regular therapy.

  these kids must be returned to their birth parents and there must be some way to get these kids back to their birth parents. A no from an African official often is an attempt to be given an incentive to say yes. I am sure various human rights bodies would be interested in this. I would suggest persisting and not taking no as an answer.
